Prop for Genesis Offshore with stock motor and 6s

Hi everyone!

I have just bought a Genesis Offshore with stock motor and Turnigy Marine 120A. I am planning to drive it on 6s (2 x 3s in series).

I need help with choosing the correct prop. Do I need another drive shaft?

Any advice and suggestion is welcome.

6S is not a good idea with the stock motor. The 36mm motor is really too small for high power and the Kv is too high. I would not go over 4S on that motor in that hull. To go 6S you will need to replace the motor with a larger format (40mm) and a lower Kv. Otherwise you will be blowing up ESCs and possibly puffing batteries. Adding voltage to any motor runs the risk of stressing it and adjacent components (packs and ESC) too much. It will be less expensive to replace the motor with an appropriate one versus replaceing a burnt up motor and ESC and packs.

If you insist on 6S then a motor like this with a Kv around 1250 would be much more reasonable: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...o-4082&cat=148 I do not know if it will fit in the Genesis without modifications. Choose an ESC with a minimum of 120 amps, 180 is better.

The 40mm motors will fit straight in but you will need to buy a 40mm tail ring.

I'm running stock motor on 6s with a seaking 180 amp ESC. Look on my page for pictures and i have a video on youtube. I run a m442 prop with great luck. Over 50 mph easy. I'm sure they are right about the stock motor but i've had good luck with mine. 102 is high as i've seen the temp and that's with a full run. I run timing at 3.75 tho.

Have't tested that prop much. Oh the stock shaft is junk , you can order a upgrade on this site not sure on part number. To be able to run the x442 or x440/3 on the stock shaft you'll need a adapter that is on this site. Feel free to ask me anything about my genesis. I feel like i'm leaving something out...good luck.

I put the 3974 2200kv aquastar motor with T180 in mine, goes AWESOME! Ive upgraded the flexdrive and strut to 3/16 .187
I run a M445 SnB. Run that on 4s it will go 50+mph

youll need a bigger drive dog at least and p220 is a good prop grim 42/55 is a godd prop also.i changed mine to 3/16 so its easier to work on flex shaft.dont have to take ass end apart.

Dont get any of the drive setups from HK, they arnt worth the hassle
you want a 1 peice setup, its so much smoother with one
a 150 to 3/16 stub will fit in the genesis with no mods, however if you do 3/16 to 3/16, youd need a 1/4in brass Tube
Or larger if you want to use teflon liner still
