Prop reccomendation for 26" mono with 700bb & 4s lipo

    Hi,

I have a scratch built mono measuring 26" long with a very shallow Vee (not too far off a flat bottom similar to a crackerbox). The boat is running a brushed 700bb cordite motor and an old RC hydros 90A esc on 4s lipo. Note the boat is running a prop and strut setup similar to the el lobo hulls.

Can someone please give me a ballpark figure on where to start in terms of a sharpend and balanced prop? One prop supplier suggested a sharpened and balanced X635. If nothing else it sounds far too small for a low RPM motor. I would have expected something up in the 45mm range?/?

    Suggestions will be welcome!

    Regards,

    Brent

The 700 will spin a decent sized prop. An x635 is pretty small for a 26" hull. I'd start with an x442 or m445; you may be able to go up to an x645 depending on how freely the boat runs.

      Thanks Fluid,

Can you possibly tell me the difference between the M series and X series? Similarly the 445 and 645? I am assuming pitch differences??

I will probably buy both and run both to see how they differ, but interested to know the physical difference of those two props.

      Regards,
      Brent
