Proboat Mystic 29 - upgrade prop?

So, over the cristmas break; I decided to pick up an proboat mystic. I now have about 10 runs on it, and the stock speed is fine; but ..... I just want a little more. So of course, when I spotted an brand new grimracer prop at a yardsale, I picked that up too. And now I am wondering if the prop is at all an upgrade. It's the grimracer 40x53 CBr ( 2 blade) I heard that its also called a x440)..... So ya, is the prop at all an upgrade over stock?

That prop has a little less pitch than the Octura 440. 1.4 X 40 = 56, so the 440 would be a 40 X 56. Blade area may be different, and that will change how it performs, but regarding diameter and pitch, the 440 has a little more pitch. The one you bought would probably load the motor a little less than the 440, but it also depends on blade profile and area. The stock prop would be roughly a 40.6 X 63.5 but the profile is different than an M440 (stock prop has less blade area and different shape). Did you balance your stock prop? I have 2 stock PB SS props and they were significantly out of balance; one was much worse than the other. It will eat up your strut bushing if you run it out of balance.

Yes, I did balance the stock prop. And what your saying is that the 40x53 grim is a little bit better? Because that's what In aiming for.
