M verses X series Octura Props

Can some one give me some help with these 2 types of props? What is the difference between M and X series props? I have 2 riggers, Geico, and 2 F1 tunnels. The last one is P295 that I am about to finish. I know Mike rec. M445 Oct. prop. which I will use but I have a lot of X series Octura's props and they don't really look different from the M series M445 that I bought, what is the difference? Lift? Speed in F1 boat design verses rigger design?
I would like to know and use what is best. Thanks.

The M series have no tongue and have a little less blade area than the X series

You will suffer a little loss of acceleration with the m series but it will allow you to run a larger dia prop with less amp draw and heat.
I don't notice much performance difference between the two but the temp gauge will tell you that the m series is easier on equipment especially when pushing the prop dia limits. Jmo

The M series works great for OPC tunnels where you don't want any lift. I run an M440 on mine with the 60A Aquacraft ESC. If I upgrade the ESC I might be able run M445.

O.k sounds good. Now can you clarify the tongue of the prop? And is the lift that you get lifting the bow of the boat or trying to lift the stern of the boat? thanks guys.

This is the prop diagram, stickied at the top of this forum.

I would also suggest the other sticky with a link to Sweetaccord's prop album, lots of good info.
