Clean it and get all the oil and grease off it. Next thing is don't cut it to size yet instead carefully grab it at both ends with your hands and pull on it to stretch it out a little then slide it in. Let it set for a bit so it will go back to shape, make sure you can slide your flex in and trim to size. Had to do to my SV27 as the new Teflon is just a little bit bigger then the stock one. Hope this helps.Modified Jae21, Stock Jae21, Cheetah, Ul-1, Shock Wave 26 V2 (Rescue Boat). -

I don't use teflon liners they are nothing but a headach and are not needed . I've been boating since 1976 I tried one once saw no advantage and never used one again . Just grease the shaft good and run it .Comment

So i wont have to change out the stuffing tube after the season? Because that looks like a big job, and being new to RC boating, i dont want to do that if a teflon liner will save it.Comment

changing the stuffing tube is not as hard as it looks. But if you dont run a liner you will have to get a bigger flex as the gap in the tube will be to big with a stock flex and tube.Modified Jae21, Stock Jae21, Cheetah, Ul-1, Shock Wave 26 V2 (Rescue Boat).Comment

If you want to stick with the .150 cable you have you will need a 7/32 brass tube . If the brass tube in the boat is 1/4 brass tube , which I suspect it is then all you will need is a .187 flex cable . If you ever intend to go with more motor then the .187 flex cable is the way to go .Comment

OK here is the trick ,, You need to stretch the teflon out ! It is hard to hold. I use a vise grip on one side, and I hold that in my vise, on the other end I use channel locks or simalar, something with teeth, that will grip I stretch it out cut a clean side and get it in the brass tube ASAP before it starts to shrink back ChrisComment
