Two different cuts. I like the first little 1/2 moon cut for my mono. The second is a Pie cut great on a Prather prop and a hydro. these cuts can be used on many props. but to keep strength in the blade cupping is best sometimes. It all depends on the setup and the prop.

Octura X series props don't have much lift to begin with .A very small amount of cup at the tip should be all you need ,be careful as both blades must be the same , or you will create an out of balanced prop that will tear up a drive line in no time flat . Eyeballing it just will not do . How do I know , lets just say I tore up a transom pretty good .

Prop work can make or break a boat setup. I have seen a boat run 5 mph faster and way more controllable using the same prop that was cupped.

I see some saying rounding the tips helps reduce lift, but looking at some ov the grim props like L42/66 and L44/66 which are lifting props, the edges are very round. Please explain... Thanks

On the grim props, the L props have more of the surface area biased towards the outermost diameter of the prop, which gives you (bow) lift. From my experience in props on real (full size) offshore boats, round ear props give more bow lift and the cleaver and semi-cleaver style (trailing edge cut to a point), like most common props here, are stern lifting props (ie, bow rides lower).
