well i got bored and swapped around all my electronics so i need a couple prop suggestions.I have a pretty moderate sized collection or props but both these boats were on cc1515 and t180 and now the mm has a cc1420, 36x74 4 pole 1800kv and a cc120 esc, and the apparition has an 8xl 2 pole 2048kv and a tenshock esc good for 120 amps as well anybody having experience with these hulls on the smaller 36mm cans chime in, please dont guess as i havent burnt anything in a long time and dont plan on starting again today thank

Well without knowing cell count I will say that I personally prefer m props on cats, they seem to do well, but there are limited selection unless you can do prop work yourself. On my mm I run m440 but I'm also using a different setup, but it does well. There is a large gap from the m440 to the next up m445. If you can detounge an x442 of even just run it as x prop that is a good place. Also tfl makes some different stuff like x444 and x443. I can't say for sure but I think you would be safe with m445Comment

I would personally try 5s with m440. On my Titan I run Leo 3674 1700kv on 5s2p and x444 prop, but that's pretty much at its limit. I realize it's a completely different setup and hull but gives a decent idea. Your castle motor and 120 should be fine on 5s with x440, and just move up from there. Or go 4s with 442 and move up to 445. Either way you should be fineComment

I used to run an 8Xl in the Apparition years ago. The best props I found was the X440/3 or the X640. But that was with a 200A ESC, NOT a 120A. Temps were all fine & speeds were in the low 50's.
A guy at our club has an 8Xl motor in the Genesis Cat with a 125A ESC (both stock with the boat) & he runs my X437/ 3 blade on it. It's no world beater but it is surprisingly quick for that set up in such a big cat.
So Give your X437/3 blade prop a go. Might be surprising with a well aired out Apparition.
That's all the personal experience I can offer. Hope it helps a bit.
All the best.
Paul.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!
