I have been using wire drive since I got a Titan 29” used equipped with it at the end of 2010.
I have the collar just after the motor coupler but this is what I made to save the prop, prop nut and drive dog in case my wire drive breaks near the center.
This is a temporary mod cause I want to try to make my own wire drives and do not want to lost prop if the shaft breaks.

Rudder might benefit from a little trimming, 'tho.
