    Best prop...

    I just put together a Titan 29. It has a UL-1 motor, Hitec HS-615MG servo. I was using a Grim Racer 40/52/3 prop...slow start.
Changed over to a stock Revolt30 2 blade prop...faster but I am sure it could be better. Any suggestions on what prop would be the correct fit for my Titan? Thanx...

    Cptn Tom,

What esc you running? 4S power? Anything getting hot with 3 blade? Is it cavitating out of the hole? How is it once on plane? Is your esc set at "slow start"?

I am wondering if your setup might be a bit off... Do you have a pic of the hardware hull relationship? But in any case, do you have other props in your posession? say a X640 or X642 or Grimm 42X55 maybe.... Alot depends on running condition/temps as is. Which depends on setup...and so on.

But a 40-52 seems a but a the low side for pitch... Would you mind stating with the setup info and maybe the temps after a 2-3 minute run?

Last thing you want to do is over prop and

and again, any pics would be great!

      Titan 29

The stock UL-1 60 amp ESC. 2 x 4000mAh 25c batts in series. Batts get warm...motor ok. Pics are available. The Titan was built for racing, bought from the former owner.
I do not think the ESC is progammable. Once the boat is up on plane it's fast and handles very well. Takes a few seconds for that though.

        Tom,

Is that where you run with the battery placement. Seems very front heavy. Where is your cg on this?

If all is running pretty cool, seems like you have some flexibility.... a 40mm prop is a bit small, but I question the esc's capacity for more juice... If esc is pretty cool, I would go to a X442 maybe? Or a Grimm 42x55? I am guessing you don't have others on hand... It's worth purchasing a few in slightly differnt ranges...

I don't have direct experience with this combo, so maybe some other that do or have had experience will chime in...

One other idea - contact seller and see what was run in it.

No, they were just there. I will not leave them there, I am waiting for batt trays to mount them. I have to buy a few props to see what fits best for my application. Thanx
for your input, appreciate it. GOG, not sure yet, still playing with parts. I am waiting for a Traxxas waterproof box for my receiver.

I plan on racing the Titan on the 9th of Sept. So a great racing prop would be in order.

Either one of these props wouldn't be too much for the UL-1 motor and 60 amp esc?

They'll be awful close to maxxing out that 60a ESC, I would get a Turnigy 120a for 49 bucks on hobbyking, I just dont like running without any headroom. The T120 is also a 6s ESC, so you will be running it well back of its max specs on amperage and cells................it'll run nice and cool!

42x55 is the choice of racers around here, keeps the motor in the sweet spot.

where will you be racing on the 9th? The ul-1 motor is not great for the titan 29 (unless u have a gear reduction) this hull likes props in the 42-47mm range. The motor on Mot Crew boat runs great in that hull with the 60amp speedo and a x442-642 prop, my daughter ran this setup at the P-shootout in Mi and the boat was very fast. Just so you know good batteries will make as much difference as a prop selection, I ran older hyperion 45c 4200's and newer Turnigy Nanotec 4000 45c's and the newer turnigys added at least 3-4mph. I have been running the UL-1 motor in My titan 29 for 2 years but i'm running a gear drive and run a x450 with LOTS of cup. A x440-x442 will be a good setup but are you racing sprint (6 laps) or offshore (4 minutes) BIG DIFFERENCE in setup.
