Octura M440 versus X440

I was wondering if someone could help me out on the difference in these two props. Everything appears to be the same (Diameter/Pitch) except one has an M in front of it and the other has an X in front of it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I can not find the difference.

the m series of props are detongued the x series are not,personally I like the m series as they draw less amps and seem to generate higher top speeds for me but not in all situations.In short the x tongues dont really help your top end im told but they do bite better initially I have seen.no such thing as a dumb question bud

I prefer m props on cats and x props on v hulls

np bud what are you running it on? as I said earlier people have their own preferences on what hulls to use them on you just gotta experiment yourself.I have a m445 on my delta force 29 mono and have had it on there for months as its plenty fast and less stressfull on the tronics

X prop gives better hole shot coming out of a turn a m prop is better on long straight aways as you get a little more speed so it depends on what you want to do. you can always detounge a x prop I cut mine back a bit more than the M props anyways.

I have an AQ Motley Crew. I am not going to use that prop, that was just the one i used for an example. Thanks for all of your information it really helped.

I run both props. I use the m440 for sport running on my opc tunnel-- I don't want much lift on that hull. I run the x440 on my syncron mono.

I tried the m440 on the syncron and I do think it was a bit faster at the top end but it did not have the bite I was looking for acceleration (I do a lot of stop and go driving on the mono). Took longer to get up on plane.
