    Prop Suggestion!

Took my Genesis out today after rebuilding motor and new batteries, just don't seem to be get the rpm's like it should.
I'm running a CC 1515 2200, T 180, On 5s 5000 40c batteries. Tried with a M440 3 blade not bad but still should be more, Tried a X642, boat seem to run better but esc did not like it, 145f after 2 minutes and went into thermo shut down. looking for suggestion on a prop to try. Thanks for any Ideas.

Thanks for the tips. Which way should I go, smaller diameter same pitch, or same diameter less pitch to get more revs out of the motor? looking into the x442 the m445 and the x438.

I would also stay with a 442 or 440 with 5s in these summer months.I have been running my Geico with a CC1515 and T180 for a year now.I was running a M645 but am down to a X642 now that it is warming up.

You could also try turning the timing down and run a m445/545 reduced timing will help with heat you may lose 1 or 2 mph but lose a lot of heat build up, which is not good for the motor, esc and your cells, I have a mg that I run a leopard 4074 a t-180 with a m445 on 4s2p never had any heat or speed problems and it runs at 55mph regularly. Also I try not to run at half throttle as this can generate heat in the esc. Just my 2 cents worth.

I've been running a MM now for 7mos. with a lep 4074-2200kv 5000 mah 4s2p with a x442 I've set the timing at 3.75 on my t-180 and it runs very well no heat issues . Even on a 100deg. day it ran better then I did . Even when I ran nitro boats you had to back off on the needle setting on really hot days . This weather is good for the grape vines not so good for FE's

                      The Leopard 4074 - 2200kv is a y wind motor & is better suited to 10 - 15 degrees, 3.75 degrees is for d wind motors.

On hot summer days every thing is much happier when runner on the Conservative side . Don't you agree ??

No a y wind motor is not running efficently on low timing. Low timing is not conservative on a y wind motor, the same as a d wind motor wont run efficently on higher timing. Timing numbers dont mean the lower the number the more conservative it is as it all depends on the wind.

that statment is just not correct . Do you know what effect timing has on a motor?

What your saying is that the timing number is the same for d wind & y wind motors, is that correct.
