I just got my prop adapter from OSE for my genesis and it works great! wanted 3/16 props now for selection, but planning on changing to 3/16 shaft in the future and didnt want to buy props now and again later.
wanted stronger flexshaft for future upgrades, but now I want one so I won't have to keep pulling motor out just to grease the shaft!Comment

i always just pull the piece that holds the prop on the outdrive and then just loosen the shaft from the motor and pull it out that wayComment

Are you saying unbolt strut height screw and pull that strut piece off, then pull shaft out? I guess 1 bolt would be better than 4 and a motor. boy am i glad i mentioned that.
I need to grease mine today and will try it that way! I still want to change to 1 piece 3/16th's in the future, mostly because i've read these 2 piece shafts can't handle the power of stronger motors and break.
but don't know enough yet to do much of anything. just playing with it til something breaks or I figure out and attempt to try something better. right now, still too scared to cut tube out and replace.Comment

I just did my first stuffing tube change and on a Genesis. I bought a hole new strut and rudder with 150- 3/16th's one piece shaft from Ose even game with new stuffing tube and liner. Was like you, scared but after I did it was really easy.

Thanks SirBudman Looks Good and you make it sound so easy.
I need to start reading up on that, does the flexshaft come in the length you need it? I've read awhile back about soldering flexshaft then cutting, then I got lost ( and I'm lousy at soldering).
I'm still trying to figure out what stuffing tube size, then which size liner goes into that. probably scared for no reason. Did you switch to use stronger motor? I have so much to learn
could you give link or location on the OSE stuff, thanksComment

Just get the one from here at ose as it comes with everything. Rudder strut flex stuffing tube and liner. I got the 150 cable 24 inch. Yes have to cut the cable but that was easy to just pain to solider.

Thanks very much, one more question if i could....How do you decide between .150 and .187 ? 187 just stronger? just bigger? does it make much difference?
I keep hoping that eventually I'll get better at soldering and it looks like these boats will make a solder-er out of you, whether you like it or not.
and it did get better once i figured out a 25watt iron doesn't do 10ga. wire. I hope my next post with pics isn't asking how to fix a golf ball size hole in my hull.Comment

Hi Guys,
Ive just joined OSE forum and started reading your posts you guys ask and answer all the right questions. i appreciate your dedication and helpvery much i have a spartan new on 6s and now i am hooked on r/c speed boats so i aquired a genesis and i am hoping to get it running in the 80's mph range. so i have been doing a lot of reading on the do's and don'ts and i am getting there. But if you guys have any tips for me i would apprecciate all input. i bought the castle 240 esc and the 4082 leopard 1500kv motor already for my hull and reading up just now on the post i have recently added the 150 3/16 catamran rudder system to the list. are there any other suggestions to get me to my goal...Comment
