OK, I worked on a ABC 17 series prop for a SAW build and here is what I did. Back cut, cupping and loss of 3 grams also shortened the hub alot. I'm calling it the "Cavitator special"!! Haven't tried it yet. It might go FAST!!!!100_0524.jpg100_0036.jpg

Its the 1.7" or 43.2mm. Its a great design but wasn't impress w/ quality. Very heavy, decent finish to start, the hole was off center alot. I was going to return it for maybe better one(at least a center hole) but decided to work w/ it. We will see how it runs on a mono. This is my attempt to reduce load and lift. The blades outside length from tip to the hub is the same length as original but back cut approx. 3/16" at the hub. Also cut down the hub diameter as I'm using a 5/16" dog. As soon as the lake calms down I'm giving it a try. I can see why they load the motor more, alot of blade area compared to the X or M series which I use alot. Also its 3.5 grams heavier than a m445 which equals 33% heavier. Thats alot. I hope my work and time pays. I could have S/B/P and cupped 4-M or X series prop for 1 of these props. It better go fast!!!Last edited by maddmatt; 04-17-2012, 05:31 PM.Comment

I used a dremel, bench grinder w/ a green stone and hand work. Today was nice, so out came the tools and respirator. Did the work outside. Regarding props,I was a gasser mono guy for years. I mainly use Octura props. I had great results. I was looking for a small diameter 42mm-45mm and large pitch prop with lower lift. I could cut down a octura getting the pitch I need or try a ABC. Well, I went the ABC road. Please work!! NOW!!! Calm down lake I want to play!!! Later, MM.Comment
