    X445 vs M445 ???

I have a Proboat Impulse 31 and I am running Leopard 2150, seaking 180, on 4 cell. I want to get a x445 to push it but was offered a m445....could someone tell me what the difference is and would I be ok running that prop? I have used the search feature but I am befuddled! ( I like the word)

You would be fine with the m 445, it just has the tounge removed. So it wont have as much lift.

Thanks for the quick reply! I went ahead and ordered it and I have a x445 so I will be able to run both and understand a little better about whats going on in differences between the two.

I have a 29" mono and it runs faster and cooler with an m440 prop than with an x440. My mono hull does not need lift, and the x440 just pulls more amps for nothing... (actually the m prop is cut down to 38mm and it is still faster...)

The x props are still great, but if you have the option to score an m, then go for it-- they seem harder to come by...

Yeah, the "M's" are great, allows the motor to unload and rev out better. The X series has the tongues for torque out of corners and getting up on plane. M's typically draw less amps and let the electronics run a bit cooler too.

I'm amazed at how much I am still learning about FE
Looks like I need to order up some M props..
M445 for starters to try in a P-Spec hull I just bought..
Ide like to get more revs out of my UL-1 motor..
