Prop For Catamaran

Hi

I need a little help here guys as im not sure if this is a prop selection question or not

I have an R2 Godspeed cat running the following
Leopard 4074 2200KV motor
turnigy 180AMP esc
3/16 driveline
runs on 4S, 2*2S 40C 5000mah zippy batteries

i have a X440(3) that works very well with this setup low temps on all hardware, but i have previously run the same setup with an X445 in a rigger and very low temps, just recently i got a X445 and an M545 to test on my hull but when it came down to exiting a corner with both of these props the esc cut the power to come in. so i guess im asking if i am over proping the setup, the other thing i need to mention in my static balancing the props seem fine but when on the test bench the seem to be a small vibration with both of my new props but not with the 3 blade.

the temps could not be measured properly as i only get a few laps before it cut out on me with the new props

can someone please shed some light as to what is going on

Your batteries aren't up to the task. The motor is pulling more amps then your 4s setup can deliver. Good way to fry a motor or esc. If you went 4s2p it would work. I run a m645 on that motor in a 32" mono running mid 50s! But she's a hot setup that way. I prop down in the summertime, but in the winter I can get away with the m645. The seakings also have a very senstive lvc, if set in *auto detect* you'll typically have the lvc pre-maturely cutting in. Manually enter 4s into the programming and 3.0v per. Hopefully that makes sense.

yes it makes perfect sense, so stear clear of the m545 for me untill winter, and bring out the program card for the esc

i have preset the esc to 4s but let the Low volt at factory settings as i didnt wish for the lipos to go too far and i have had everyone i know tell me different values as to put the lvc at so i left it high to be able to be 100% sure of no battery failure, and srry bout double post i have a very slow computer and it is easy to double post on forums.

You can run the m545 if you go to a 2p setup, but be very careful with it and keep the runtime very low.

Sure the lvc isn't perfect but i think it does have ALOT to do with batteries. If they are starting to puff... they arn't putting out near what they are rated for anymore. Ask me how i know.
