    Prop Question

Hey guy's I'm new to the rc boat world. I can't wait to get my Genesis in the water. It came in the mail today. I've seen in video that the original prop will not hold up. I ordered a 442 balanced and polished prop. My question is...The new prop looks to be the opposite of the original prop. Can the motor be wired to run opposite to be able to run the new prop?

pull one wire on motor, switch it with another one on esc and connect remaining loose wires together-motor should run reversed with no harm done.

The stock flex cable is for counter-clockwise spinning. Running it reversed will cause a problem.

You cant run the other way as youll unravell the flex shaft.

          Fastfish,

I don't think it was made cler enough.(in case you skim the text) The motor can be run either rotation by switching any two motor leads. BUT the flexshaft CANNOT be reversed. They are a wound coil. If you look at it, they are wound in one direction like rope. And if you reverse the rotation direction, it will unwind and expand inside the brass tubing and cause massive damage! It could lead to fried motor, esc and majot boat damage. So you need to either (1) get the correct rotation prop or (2) get the flexshaft that has the correct rotation to match the new prop.

And if you are thinking about it... Don't. Don't even try it.

The good news is now you can start a "counter rotating twin cat" project.

Guy's thanks for your help...One more question, can someone point me in the right direction for buy a new flex cable to match the right handed 442 prop I bought. I looks like its cheaper to buy a flex cable than a new prop.
