@Snowride. I have that very same setup in a 31" cat and it does 60+ mph with a M645. In a Princess however I'm thinking X445 for some more bite. I wonder how that hull will like high speeds? I can't imagine it was designed for it but It'd sure be a sight for sore eyes
@alfredos. Start with 40 mm 1.4 pitch. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...d=ose-2bld-316Last edited by znus; 02-15-2012, 03:19 AM.25" Arrowana with Etti 2970 3300kV. RCMK Flying Cat with twin HOR Outboards. 2 x SSS 4092 2140kV. Faluga 45" with Leo 56110 620 kv on 12s.Comment

I certainly am not looking for 60 but would rather underprop to keep things cooler and shoot for sub 50mph. At 60 I think the hull might delaminate.The largest prop I have is a prather 220 but I do think this is a little too small but then again may be a good starting point. Guess my question is, what size would likely be the best to achieve about 50mph on this setup? I saw this video a while back which tells me it does seem to handle quite well at speed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCSBMBxtJrI

Doing 50, counting backwards, a X442 would be spot on. But that's just theories and math. The small diameter might have some problems pushing that giant up to plane from a stand still. It seems the YT-guy was running a 47 mm prop on a 1620 kv 3660. That's asking for trouble imho. Actually you could run a 47 mm but do it on 5s. That would get you to ~45 mph and you'd have some nice headroom on volts on your T180 esc.

Keep your Lipos and get a 1320 kv 5692!25" Arrowana with Etti 2970 3300kV. RCMK Flying Cat with twin HOR Outboards. 2 x SSS 4092 2140kV. Faluga 45" with Leo 56110 620 kv on 12s.Comment

hello znus how are you? I want to thank you so much for your advice on the right prop for my princess boat, because I was able to go to the lake and test the boat with a 40mm graupner prop and my god the princess was flying ! I had no issues with anything getting hot at all. thanks again so much!Comment
