    Three blade vs two

Never have figured this out. Say you have a 440 two blade and a 440 three blade. What's the different characteristics? The three has more surface area but the two bites harder with less cavitation. Any opinions on this.

Acceleration is usually stronger with the 3-blade, that is because the load is higher and more power is getting to the water. When going from a 2-blade to a 3-blade, it is usual to reduce the prop to 80% of the diameter of the 2-blade. Due to the available props this is not always possible. Pitch is what determines speed.

I have noticed this also. My Whiplash exits the turns faster using a 3-blade prop (left sponson tip lifts slightly during take off)
