Thanks SA, that was my thinking, so I went ahead and did that anyways. Glad to have the reassurance though.

My only complaint thus far is that the model seems to still have mold-release residue of some sort... Its been hell trying to get anything to stick on the inside. Double sided sticky back foam, sticky back velcro, hot glue, even silicone glue.

I just to denatured Alcohol to it, hoping that will help. I don't want to jump straight to acetone.

Anyone else have these problems, or a solution?

After I finished my Q-sport hydro with MAS epoxy, the Velcro would not stick to the inside of the wood hull. Not until I took some sandpaper to it, like 120 grit, and then cleaned with a solvent would Velcro or Goop stick properly. Now they are about as permanent as possible!

          Acetone seemed to fix it...

Does anyone have a CG for this thing?

Copy the Mini Cat Hydro setup sheet. Look on their site.

I was there for a concert, I didn't post these pictures because i didn't want any misunderstanding from guys who have official relationship with TFL. It is not my intention to be a TFL rep. I just love RC boats and wanted to see the factory. It is quite interesting to see how they make their boats and it is a much smaller operation than one would have imagined. The laser cutters and CNC machines are the only "hi tech" quarters . Lots of work by hand... especially how they apply stickers to the Genesis hull

( yours truly is on the right)
Nice that they gave you a tour!

The place looks very neatly kept.

Okay guys, it is crucial to replace that servo! Mine failed on the first outing, I got very lucky that it failed 2 feet from me, and got stuck full right turning it onto shore, almost flipping the boat.

Unforunately I only have a TowerPro 9G servo... From the looks of the internals, it appears to be the same servo. Everything appears identical, except for the case is exactly 1mm shorter. All other dimensions are 100% identical.... As mentioned, it is the last one I have so I am just going to have to give it a shot and pray! (I did already do my best to water proof it. CorrosionX is not sold in CA so I am using another Dilectric, although it leaves behind a slightly greasy film.)

                I will try again tomorrow!

Lol yes, the stock servo must be branded Tesla because it is self-driving!

                      not a bad little boat.
i'm running it stock on 4s (1000ma) with a x427. not real stable but heaps of fun
only thing i want to change is ditch the 2 piece shaft and fit a .098 flex shaft

                        Thanks Wuz .

Yep I like to ditch the 2 piece shaft as well.

Well from the sounds of it the spec servo has to go too.

Just got mine today, found a way to run 3s2p if I really wanted to. Not sure how it will handle like this but the cog and float test make me think that it just might work fine! Just have to wait for the water to thaw as I live in WI so testing is not an option right now...

Ah there it is. That layout would work but would't it be more stable with both batteries straight inline with the hull forward and aft? I'm thinking wider weight dispersion would balance better than centering the weight.
