Barbwire will not run

I bought a barbwire used off another site. When I give it throttle it try's to run but it's a Wa Wa Wa for three seconds and then stops. Let go of throttle and then it will try to start again. Is the motor Bad? How does the ESC know if your running 2s or 3s? I pulled up a Manuel and there are no ESC instructions. I bought the boat just for the hardware for my H&M mono.

Well I forgot I had an old motor to plug in and try. Yep, the boat he sold me has a bad motor. I will never buy used electronics again. Why would someone kink somebody like that?

If you have a.caliper could you measure the width of the propshaft and wire drive
