I had a micro fountain, it was an awesome boat! I got a Gecko (also made by MHZ) and pulled the parts from the fountain so I have the hull lying around. I think Ill build it up this summer. Anyway, I ran the fountain on a 3900 kv ammo 28-35 inrunner on 2s 2200 Mah with an x427 balanced and sharpened. That setup was pretty quick and insane on 3s 2200 Mah. One nice thing about the boat is the self righting. If you get it balanced right and put the majority of the weight, (battery, esc, rx etc) on the left side it will aid on the torque roll and help the boat flip right side up when you hit the throttle. If memory serves me right, I hit just under 45 mph on 3s before she blew over.

Thanks Rich, that's what I wanted to hear. I didn't think it was gonna take much to push this little guy. I didn't realise it was self righting that's great. You wouldn't happen to have any pictures of the layout inside would you? Would I be able to get by with a 35a esc then? I want to start getting parts together here soon, even though the water around here is pretty hard right now.Comment

I don't have any pics for you, but where is your motor mount at? Mine was the stock location and I used the stock drive hardware and rudder. The esc was a 40 amp airplane esc without water cooling of course. The motor I did water cool with an OSE silicone water jacket. The lipo was to the left of the drive shaft, the esc way up in front to the left of the motor, the servo all the way back to the right and the rx just forward of the servo. It worked out well with a little bit of adjusting of the location from the electronics. You will find the if you push this hull hard in the turns it will spin out but end up still right side up and ready for more. Right turns are tighter than left as with most if not all boats so keep that in mind. I run that seaking 35a esc in my Gecko without problems. It has survived plenty of abuse from hard running to a swim with the fishes. I cannot comment on whether or not it will handle that motor though.24 R/C vehicles and still counting...What budget?Comment

Thanks for the info Rich. That's the way I had laid everything out in my head. Yes stock mount location. I looked at a 38a Castle esc for a plane today at the local store. Little tiny esc I'll have to seal it up with some epoxy but it should be fine. I was thinking of the silicone water cooler for the motor also.Comment
