Nikko Sea Ray (OLD VERSION) Electrical, Motor and Jet Drive Questions

So im probably going to keep the boat prop driven, because im lazy, and i want to start off kinda easy with this project. the current prop is just mated to the driveshaft via friction so firstly i want to upgrade the steering and prop and ill move the stock motor to work with the upgrade.

I know i need a flex shaft, a prop shaft, a drive dog, a prop, a coupler and a propellor and an armature for the new rudder setup, but what else will i need?

basically my list of things i need to upgrade the propeller/drive system. comes to about $70 so im pumped its not super expensive. but the receiver and transmitter arent every accurate, and by that i mean the ESC has 2 positions, full speed OR stopped. there is no going slow, medium or fast. its the same with the rudder, its either hard left or hard right, so i think ill have to just get all new internals (tx/rx unit, esc servo and motor) or else upgrading the drive system would be pointless.

but as i was typing this i was just told how much just one out of my 4 loans was going to be a month to repay it so this will probably not happen because i will soon be living in a box.

years and years ago, I had the SAME EXACT boat, but the steering stopped working, so i tossed it

yeah i like it a lot its just not accurate steering or throttle wise
