question about barbwire "stinger" and prop shaft.

Just got my barbwire today and in mine and my sons excitement to run it, I didn't bother checking things over, figured I would tear it down after the maiden. Anyway, ended up losing the propshaft on the first run.. The shaft from my Centurion (both made by joysway) was the right length and went right in but I was wondering if there was supposed to be a bearing in the end of the stinger or if it is just a bushing inside? The shaft seems to have a good amount of wobble to it so I just wanted to make sure nothing else was missing. Thanks.

Mine has a bit of wobble, I think you have everything. It almost seems like the teflon tube IS the bushing.

The fun doubles when you bring it out in a kayak and run when you're at water level with it.

Remember if you tear it down, warranty is gone.

I can imagine! I'll have to try that sometime as well! I plan on this one being the one we chuck in the boat with us and just run the snot out of it in less than desirable conditions :). I didn't think about it until now, but your comment about the teflon being the bushing would probably explain why the flex comes with a new liner as well. I ordered 3 flex shafts and 2 stock props since my Centurion uses the same parts. Have a CNC aluminum on the Centurion that I am curious to try on here, but with only a 20A ESC, I don't want to push it.

Warranty is pretty much the last thing I care about with this stuff, as long as the electrics all work when I get it, I'm good with it. However, by "tear it down" I really just meant take the flex out and make sure it was lubed good and then just go over all the screws and such to make sure they are tight. Thanks.

OK, now I'm a little ticked- ran the boat for one pack last night, ran great. Charged it up and tossed it in the water today, motor just made a grinding noise- ESC bit it already!! I know I said I don't typically care about warranty stuff but this sucks lol. Tried another motor with this ESC, same thing. Have to pull another ESC to try with this motor just to verify but certain it is the ESC- just hope it isn't the motor and that took the ESC out- I'd hate to lose another ESC testing it. Damn it, more pissed that I couldn't play with my new toy tonight than I am about possibly having to buy new parts for it lol.

OK, definitely the ESC as I had suspected. I installed the ESC in it from my Centurion and all is well. I'll probably just leave it in and order a seaking 35 or something for the Centurion. I did notice then taking it out that there was heat shrink at least half way up the motor bullets with the worst one being even higher and was every loose when I went to unplug it, so even though the ESC is known to be a weak link in this boat, I'm wondering if that's what made it fail prematurely.
