    Brushless Mini Rio Handling Issues

Due to some problems getting my stock Mini Rio up on the plane, I recently installed this motor: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...erCooled_.html

I can now get up on the plane no problem, but at anything above half throttle the back end of the boat swaps violently side-to-side until it flips. Would installing the fins/ride plates from the Mini Mono help? I know there is an ideal CG somewhere, but it is not mentioned in the manual, so that might be way off. Anyone know where that might be, or if there is anything else I can do?

    Thanks!

I would say yes it will help. I put a complete Mini mono set up in my daughters Mini rio and it is a little screamer now. It runs nice and flat with no wobbles.

Thanks SirBudman! How did you attach the plates to the hull? Did you have to add some reinforcement to the inside?

No reinforcement needed, just a couple stainless sheet metal screws.
