Super mono x or offshore warrior?

Need some advice, I have some spare 3s 2200mah packs and want a small rig to run in a local river rather than on the boating lake, berm thinking of either of these joysway models or the hobbyking centurion, I like the idea of self righting but the river is always flat calm, I what's everyone's opinion? The offshore warrior looks like the same hull other than being abs but is a lot more money?

I would say that any of the 3 are far too fast for a river, especially with 3S, as they are virtually supersonic. Unless ,that is, the river is exceptionally wide.

Matt the Centurion is the older version of the Joysway Sea Rider cat.

Yeah it's plenty wide enough, I am going to run my 32" twin cat there but only for straight line runs as its not wide enough for fast turns hence owing for a mini

Atomik is rebranding the SMX as the Barbwire. You should probably buy the Barbwire as you'll get much better support.

No the Venom Barbwire is not sold in the UK, the Joysway boats are imported by Ripmax a large distributors in the UK. They do list quite a lot of spares including spares for the Mono X, quite what they have on the day when you need any spares is another thing as with a lot of large distributors they only tend to reorder a few times a year.

Yes Ripmax are the wholesale distributors in the UK for Joysway who supply Wheelspin models with boats & spares.

I recently received a new Joysway sea rider cat v3 and couldn't be happier with my purchase. very cheap to buy but quality is not bad and they go hard straight out of the box. I've taken it for a few runs at the local pond and people with bigger boats were very surprised by its speed. Very easy to steer and quite stable. Pitfalls? the standard battery is a bit lame even though its lipo and the supplied charger is really crap. But that wouldn't be a problem for you would it? spare parts are comprehensive and cheap. I would not hesitate to recommend this model for good cheap fun. I've already got some upgrades coming...

Is this the same as the Turnigy centurion from hobbyking? They are only about £80 but I like the self writing feature hmmmm :-s

Matt the Centurion is the old sea rider @ 130mm wide, the newer Joysway version is 165mm wide.

May be wrong, but I don't think that I have seen anything to claim that the Centurion or the Offshore warrior are self righting. Am I missing something?

Offshore warrior 2 and SMX are self righting, centurion (sea rider) isn't

The centurion has a few upgraded parts in it but is a fair bit more expensive too. 80 pounds? I paid 80 aus. for the sea cat with free express postage. That said, I like the look of the Centurion too.
