anyone built a vac-u-vee jr? i am collecting parts to get started and wondering what set-up works well in these. i wanted to make it surface drive if benificial (instead of the stock straight drive set-up) with or without water cooling. i would rather use a in-runner on aprox 2200mah 2s. just looking for some ideas to get started. i ordered the complete kit with hardware but was thinking i might go to the .098 flex and micro strut as i have had good evperiences with this in my other micro vee's.

I'm building one. Save your money. I've built many a mono in the 22" range. Build one out of wood or get one out of abs. Jr., doesn't really fit good .Now find plans and revamp the plans . Now if it gets a ahair heavy, don't sweat it.

the hull hardware came in today. looks like a good abs hull but was not at all what i was expecting, my fault! i read 19" and was thinking somewhere between my 17" gecko and 21" no step 1.... well turns out its 19 15/16" (20") and beamy, alot bigger than i was expecting. the complete kit came with everything, except instructions!!! it looks like a fun little boat but i already have a mono and cracker that are the same size. i havent decided if im going to build it or not.... i will say it looks like a cool little boat that will prob preform good on a 28mm motor, just gona have a hard time building it when my ns1 uses a neu 1509 and runs flast and flawless...

Some advise or better put a suggestion. Get a no step II. I have a no step i with no turn fins or trim tabs. and flies. I beef up the interior ithe another layer of fiberglass. The II can use anther layer of fb. Reason i say II, it is light and smooth design and beefed up and a 2700 kv and on 3s with weight at cg or ahair ahead of cg and prop shaft angled down alittle with a 632 prop. This will make a smooth machine and fast. Your experienced boater from what i've read on RRR and here. This kind of boat will last and fun abound.

too big, i had one and they are great boats but i want something between a mhz gecko and the ns1... i have enough bigger boats allready.

How about a Joysway but with less power and will be fast and less flipping around. Most people seem to like the flippin around but i'd for myself like fast and hangs tight to corners and cuts waves with ease. I think weight at CG is the answer for what i like. I wish i could give you answer on motors for Joysway. Mine are suited for 22" monos. I'm not small talking ot shotting bull, but made several wooden Eletrafieds and cut off at 20 " and put 3536-1700 outrunner on 3S and rode so flat and turned on a dime with dual turn fins and were fast. I overbuilt these and ahair heavy but what fun. . Not crying, just pointing out why i don't have power to finish as i get bored pooking around. Let me know what exactly you do get. I make my own eqiupment which is the fun part . Have a good day.

i was looking for a way to get back into rc cheaply.....the spartan and impulse 31 seemed to be pretty steep and i didnt want to spend that coin at this moment (havent owned a rc boat in at least 5 years or more) i found this while searching ebay today, it came with everything i need, and i also had the guy throw in another lipo battery and some hatch tape, didnt see how i could go wrong...... http://www.ebay.com/itm/140759315022...84.m1439.l2649 the guy has been building boats for a while, says she runs 30-35 as currently setup, i have a 30mm metal prop on the way also, hoping to squeeze some more out of it. who knows, maybe ill like it so much ill drop the coin on the rio 51 ive had my eyes on, =-)
