Haven't on a 240, but yes that's basically it. I lightly sanded the mosfets to clean the epoxy off them for a good contact with the cooling plate.

You can get it in the water proofing section on OFF SHORE. Be prepared though its very slow to dry and always moving around but i have had this done for all my units and never had one fail. They have been under water all night and still work perfect. {Just could not get her back before it got dark} LOL

The hydra CC240 has more than one board there4 conformal coating it might not be 100% effective in SEA water. For sea water I use the box idea.

No it can be done. I use 1/2 tube of conformal coating and completely saturate the esc. Like i said its a messy deal and i am always scooping up excess goop pouring out during its drying time.

                        My $.02...

Find out why your getting water in the hull and fix it. I would rather have a dry hull than wet electronics...

As far as my LV 240; it has been completely submerged in water and it has been "damp" in past experences. I simply take the shrink off, blow all of the excess water off, set it in the sun to dry, and everything is fine. I have been using the same controller for the last 2 years with out one problem.

In fresh water or sea water? I had a reply from Castle that in sea water they sort because the + and - battery terminals are not sprayed.

                            Disar,

My experiences are all in fresh water.
