From what I can tell yes it is airplane ESC so not pistol compat.. Or you can rubberband your throttle forward.

        hobbycity esc

You'll regret buying it for boats, i bought one without knowledge and returned it cause it was a ROYAL PAIN 10 years ago or more and almost discouraged me from going FE.

James, what hull are you planting that esc in, motor, batteries, prop? and yes you will need a Pistix

Edit.......you will not need a Pistix dumb me for not reading a user's report , but I am concerned as far as the application.

Since it's got a brake enable/disable function, it may be used for cars as well, so it might work on a pistol radio.
              Just a thought.

That's not a very big ESC for a F/E boat. If the one you fried was the same size you may fry this one too, hence Douggies question in the previous post, I would think.

              Paul.
Video 2000 posted while I was typing. So there you go, no pistix.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

                            Wow, dude. 4 posts... [edit]

Um, so yeah. They work fine with pistol tx's. The brake function is not the same as the brake for cars though, it's to slow down a folding prop so it will fold up faster on electric sailplanes.

You will want to turn it all the way off.

I have the 60 amp version. Waterproofed and watercooled.

If your drawing 15-20 amps with that speedo, you'll be fine. Otherwise, go up a size. It's never a good idea to run an esc at full tilt.
