    Twin Powered Hydro....Drag boat

    Twin Powered Hydro....Drag boat
Twin cats are neat and I like them and will do one. Not at the moment. I have another idea.
    Twin shaft hydro....Drag boat.

Here are the rules. Simon style. No classes or rules here and no power restrictions or specs.
It will be twin motor, 2 shafts and a pair of 430 c/r props.
I will draw and build the hull, no question there

Now what I am after is possible hull size recommendations and power options.
Possible candidates for power are 400-450 size outrunners with a kv that will suit 3S or 4S power

I chose 3S or 4S to keep the amps downs and there are a lot of very affordable and small packs that will suit. The pack is the least of my worries at the moment as I can spec one to fit the motors that will go in there.

    Performance.
I am looking for full blown drag boat launch style. Airborne out of the hole and then settle with a big fat and tall roost. This is a show boat.....for me !!
I would like to get 40mph or more. If twin heli size outrunners are not going to do it on 430’s then I will have to go with 380 size inrunners and the appropriate esc’s.

    Hull
Shape will be based loosely on the Whiplash hydro , particularly for the underside shape and proportions.

Your thoughts and ideas please. Preferably positive.
    See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Simon what a great idea. I can help with pics of the Whip 40 sponsons , they are a better and faster design than the older sport20. They may have changed the 20 but I do not know. They would take very little redesign to make good drag sponsons. Seeing as it is a drag boat and ALL drag vehicles should be over powered how about 36" long 18-19" wide with twin 580xl 6 wind motors on 4s 1 p each and twin Etti 150's running CR M447 props. Should get out of the hole very hard. Oh boy I have a feeling this will stick in my head and need to be built. Must speak to the accountant as I have just purchased a new 4s rigger and a Silex pro gasser. Hmm maybe I can sell the sport 40 to fund it...........................Oh my brain hurts
