Sorry if you feel I'm trying to discourage but newbies also deserve to be told the 'down' side to some of these bargains. Some of us have been around this game a long time and got equally excited over the years about perceived 'bargains' until they proved to be not so wonderful in the long run. Like I said, if you're running just for fun and not balls out racing, the batts are probably OK.

You also can get some really nice looking clothes at Walmart really cheap. They look great until washed and seem to wear out really quick. But if you know this going in, then go ahead and buy it. When you have to buy the item several times to get the same service as a slightly higher priced equivalent, it's no longer a bargain. There is always a reason something is more expensive. It's not always exhorbitant markup and profit margins.

I do agree there are some really overpriced lipos out there too! I have also seen some that are less than the highest price but not as cheap as the Zippy batteries. That is where my comfort level lies as it has proven to be a better investment.

I posted this to show "those guys" and anyone interested in a second or third pair that a decent set can acquired at a reasonable price. Those who run higher amp setups usually have more experience and would have looked at this and simply said, "Ok." At least that was my thought. Me myself, like when people find "good deals" and share what they've found. I do hope that others who find "good deals" or "good information" will continue to share and not be discouraged in doing so.

There are thousands out there being used...this is not new.

These are very good cells and I hate to even say (for the money) because they are better than that.

It just may go to show you who is making the money. They can sell them for this and still make money? Yep.

They are solid....sure you can get crap cells...from anywhere paying $120 for this pack.

      Get the 25C for $46.

These so called associations are just hanging on with mostly volunteer workers. Best there is...until someone decides they want better and has the time to dedicate to a better one this one works...most of the time.

Why shoot at Don and RRR? Still good guys that set the standard for these forums. Every top racer hung out there with racers until people began pi$$ing them off. They never sold a thing when they were at the top.

Maybe there should be rules on lipo for racing...what is fair about 50C cells at $200 compared to 25C at $46? We set rules for everything else. It is like saying...hey the motor is the same but I'm running 110 aviation fuel while you run 87. Money talks and BS walks.

          Fine design...another story!

            Jeff,
Your endorsement means a lot. I am truly amazed. I've seen some of the zippy's cook off in airplanes when they shouldn't have. That's my only experience with them. The Chinese can make money because their employees make about $400 a month while we Americans insist on a minimum of about $1500 a month plus perks.

Thanks for the feedback! I have some crow around here somewhere... Now where did I put that salt shaker

At this point who knows. I have polyquests and elites and a few other brands. Now I hear some say that they're not that great. But at one point, people used to brag about them.

Dom...sweet video. Thanks for that. People want to believe names so put a PQ sticker on it and it sells for 4x as much and who would know? Wait...maybe that is what they do!!

Steve, Probably should begin the "get over it" classes pretty soon. Love is where it is man. Happy time and all that crap. You sold plenty from that board to members. Many a meal was put on your table from that board.

But WTF....say what you want....you are behind a keyboard.

this reminds me off when i raced electric touring cars and there were the guys who always had the best of everything, they would sling off because you were running last years 07 car and not the new 08
or you were running 3800mah not the new 4200s or you wasnt running the latest titanium super sonic speed servos
funny thing was they couldnt beat my old car or my old battries or my standard servo
wasnt long ago people were paying big dollars for name brand 20c battrys, now because you can buy 40c battries 20c are no good
what would be a better argument is whats better a $50 30c battry or a $150 20c battry

An SV27, Blackjack, Fastech, UL1 can run off of Nimh's and still be pretty fast with good runtime. Nimh's can't put out the current of lipos. The ESC's on these can't even handle high amps. But lipos in these and other boats have proven themselves even with inexpensive pairs. There is alot of hype out there where people just want you to have what they have like there is some kind of lipo club. I've learned with experience is to read between the lines, find good deals and leave all the name dropping to the guys who can afford it.
When your boat is on the water, nobody can see the labels anyways.

I am happy that Joe customer can get want he wants now without a bunch of propaganda spewed out by some offical forum that takes kick backs from Joe Vendor. This forum is not ran by someone pushing rules and products only to make a buck for himself or to gain an advantage somehow or inflate his ego.

3 cheers for Hobby City and OSE

Steve, I agree. RC Universe does this but they are also the largest Forum network on the planet.

Why do you think people should not make a profit? Come on man....people have to survive. Forums sell products. It all costs money to do this stuff.
