    51.1mph Triton vid

I ran my Triton again today with the M645 prop, worked out better than last weeks run. Moved the COG forward to 8.5" and it picked up 3.1mph over last weeks 48mph (thanks for the tip Mr. Smock). Amp average for the run was 54, but at full throttle it looks like it's drawing more like 60-65 amps. I believe I still have some tuning to do to get the hull to turn a little better. Would it be wise to use trim tabs on this hull? Here's the vid.

    wow thats fast!

    great vid, great driving...

yeah, i think you might want to use trim tabs....i would keep them neutral though, just so it acts as an extrention of the hull and stableizes it a bit, its not loose enough that it will need that much of a negative angle, i think...

Thx Saleens, I think you're right, tabs may be the way to go.

I am not going to run tabs anymore. I believe that with proper tuning you don't need them.

I may use them, only after I've made every effort to tune the boat without them. I don't want to add drag to the boat if I don't have to. I may yet try to increase the rpm at the prop with gearing and go back to the X642. The boat seems to turn better with the smaller diameter props.

You know what I really want to run. Of of those trimax active ajustable dives. Trim the boat on the fly. I think they are designed for the really big hulls though.

actually, they make them in mini, middle, large, and XL sizes....the mini (for boat 32-48") will work with it.....its 130$ though...

Your welcome sir!!! Great looking mono!!:) Your boat like most other monos, would benefit from the use of trim tabs. There is only one mono( that I know of ) that doesn need trim tabs. Get a set of Fullers or Speedmasters.

Post a pic or two of your setup for us.

You had better go with Fullers, I don't believe you have room for the Speedmasters.

In the upper 30mph to low 40's tabs didn't seem at all necessary for this hull, tracked straight and turned on a dime. Now that it's broke 50 all that has changed. For the minimal investment, I think I will give the tabs a try, if they don't accomplish anything, I don't have to run with them. I'll let you all know how it goes:D
