    Who's fault is this crash?

My buddy and I are just getting into boats, he's got the SV27 and I have the UL1.

He says that this crash is my fault because I hit him. I say it's his fault because he got in front of me.
He got a chunk taken out of the hull and one of my vertical fins got broken off.

The UL1 is slow and hopping like that b/c it's got a huge chunk missing from the prop from an earlier run in when I got the servo plug in backwards and had no steering. Took off, boat turns right into Bubber's. Nothing I could do. The first day out it was way faster than the SV.

It's all in good fun, no one is actually mad or anything. If you think this is harsh, you ought to see us run Monster Trucks, talk about carnage. Hey Bubber, remember the day I squashed your pipe flat? That's one way to win the race

5 cars, 9 trucks, 2 scale, 1 crawler, 2 boats, 8 helis, 3 planes, 1 jet, a hydralic endloader, and that’s just the ones that are rtr or nearly so, not even counting the ones in a bucket, ugh, I got it bad.

I don't think either is at fault. When his boat flipped, you let off the throttle. It appears that it flipped into your path. But he had no control over that.

UL-1 owner is at fault by not knowing better than to stay away from super flip 27s.

A good reason for a spotter!

I would say it's the driver with the red boat who's at fault

It's a racing deal no one to blame. But i vote ul1 only because in a race if you hit a flipped boat you get DQ.

you no what at second look i take back what i said i dont think that would count as a flipped boot. No ones fault racing deal

As you noted that is not quite accurate. A racer is disqualified only if the boat he hits has been previously "called" dead by the Contest Director. Clearly in this case there was no time for an official to 'call' the boat, nor for the following racer to avoid it.
