7.5 / 11cc Electric lower leg conversion..How are people doing it?

I am looking to do a 7.5/11cc K&B outboard with Fast Electric. What are people using for flex cables, and collets? I will be using a K&B lower unit. Any pictures of your setup or answers to this thread will be most welcome! Thanks, Mike

I'm working on this for a Lawless lower myself. There is enough room there that if one wanted to, they could machine out the lower for clearance on a standard Octura coupler.

I'm trying to get Richard at REK to start making his normal couplers with the .145" flats needed for the .187" 7.5/11cc flex cable. He said he was looking into it, but I haven't heard back from him in awhile.

Couplers are really the main sticking point to getting this conversion done.

Darin, have you made any cuts on your lower yet? Any pics?

Hyperformance has a conversion kit for K&B base 7.5cc+ lower units. It has the adaptor and square drive coupler for the larger shaft and bolts directly to the lower with no mods.

I've got one on a bullet drive on the back of an XT460 Leecraft. Works great

Excellent! I just need the coupler, so I'll have to go check that out!

I called Hyperformance, they have the kit in stock, $39.95 plus shipping! I got mine ordered. So..the 41" hydroplane kneeler project just got one step closer to reality!
