Anyone got a MHZ dpx24 nimbus?

I was thinking of a H&M Batboat XL but it is a little to far from scale for me, so I am now thinking of the MHZ DPX-24 Nimbus 43" batboat, which looks very scale being officially licenced by Ocke Mannerfelt. Unfortunately it is the enclosed cockpit version that I don't like so I would be looking to convert it to the open canopy, does anyone have this boat? If so can you tell me if the canopy is all part of the hatch which would make things easier or if it extends beyond the hatch anywhere.

    Hi Paul,

The hatch is similar to the Chinese knock-off in the pictures, the hatch on this boat comes off at the red outline, the MHZ canopy extends further to the rear and includes the middle fin.

Cool, thanks for the info Jan, I don't suppose you fitted a flood chamber did you? I'd love to see how big it has to be, I'm guessing batboats are pretty stable upside down with the wings in the water.

        Hi Paul,

I'm preparing the boat in the picture for a fun boater, he has to get it back with a fishing pole and tennisball when he flips it...

A floodchamber in this type is huge indeed, due to the fact that the hull is thick (high) and the floodchamber has to destroy a lot of boyancy to make the hull flip back.

In fact I'm preparing a couple of ARPRO 700EP (from the same manufacturer) for racing and they are getting a floodchamber installed that's 2"wide and runs almost the entire length of the hull to get sufficient volume.
        Pictures here:http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1065830

I have finished the template and it's 52.5 cm long and 70 mm wide at the highest point...

Hopefully I'll install it during the weekend.

        Regards, Jan.
