its the centre wire on the lead that goes to the esc, dont cut it you can just remove the lead from the plug, there is a little plastic flap that you can lift up with a small screw driver and pull the wire out

      thanks ozzie,

havent cut anything yet, thought it best to ask the experts:)

have a separate battery 4.8 v pack, this should be ok shouldnt it?

Just another query BEC = Battery eliminator circuit, as in doesn't need a separate pack?

thats rite no seperate power needed for the reciever or servos,
4.8 v pack should be fine i prefer to run a ubec as i have never had a problem with them

I would recommend using a 6V receiver pack. A 4.8 V pack will work but the servos will not have as much torque.

i probably should heve asked him what size boat he was using
in acouple of my hulls 29-33" i run high torque servos on 5v with the ubec and its more than enough

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but since you guys are still on the subject. I have the same question would like to ask. Ok. my esc is plugging directly into the LipoShield. Then, the LipoShield is plugging into the receiver. So, how do i disable the BEC?

sorry never used a lipo shield, will ask tho as it may help someone else that knows, does the esc have a built in bec to start with, also does the red wire on the lipo shield need to be there

The esc is a125 ETTI with built in bec. The LipoShield is there to make sure the cut off voltage is correct, and 9 out of 10 times it does the job. BTW, i'm not sure if the red wire on the liposhield needs to be there or not.

just asked thought it mite help someone else answer
i dont run my batteries till the lv cuts in, would have thought that the ettis lv cut off would be enough, but if your going to run till it kicks in probably doesnt hurt to be carful

I run till the lv kicks in then the liposhield shuts it down completely for about 30 sec. Then, it runs again with enough power back to shore.
