Would you need to run a higher MaH if running in series, and what would be the right way to figure the MaH rating you needed to get the best results?
How to switch to Lipo technology?

mah just affects run time...if running two 4000mah packs in a series, your voltage doubles, but the mah stays the same...if running in parallel, its vice versa
its really the C rating you should worry about...to make sure your batts have enough C's to handle the amp draw of your motor...i dont know how many amps= a C though...saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

for the castle esc you set the lvc for the entire pack. you determine what that is by multiplying the number of cells in the pack(series) by a min of 3.2v(3.4 may be better). lipo cells fully charged usually have 4.15-4.2v per cell. with nimh cells your 18cell pack would be defined as 18s(18 cells in series), if you put another 18cells in parallel it then be 18s2p. you can prolly guess why the series bit(raise voltage) continuing the nimh bit. supose that those cells are 3600's and you add another pack in parallel you now have a 7400mah pack(parallel adds capacity)Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came inComment

what does 'C' stand for?
Is it possible to run something like 3s2p and then equal the 6s that I would be looking for? This would be for maybe boat weight & CG issues?

Once more for the brain dead! If I get two 3s packs, how would I wire them in order for them to = a 6s pack? It's a small world, but I'd hate to paint it!Comment

CC 125 rated '2 to 6 LiPo packs', doe sthis mean the most I can power into it with is a 6s pack? It's a small world, but I'd hate to paint it!Comment

so...6s2p would give me 22.2 volts, which as stated earlier is slightly higher than the voltage of 18 NiMH cells at 21.6 volts. Beneifts are weight reduction, cooler operation, more speed? It's a small world, but I'd hate to paint it!Comment

but with a 6s2p, will my charger not be able to charge the pack? It's a small world, but I'd hate to paint it!Comment

what chager do you have? you will have 12 cells total, and you can charge them in parallel too, but i think after a while, you might have balancing problems
6s2p you will have two 6s packs in parallel so you will have double the capacity of a regular 6s pack....it might be easier to find a single 6s pack that has a higher C rating (like 20C's)....i still dont know how many amps equals a C, could someone help me out....saleens7, the wookie of rc boatingComment

yeah...youll need a new charger first...i would suggest
look for the
(Nicad, NIMH, SLA, Lipoly Charger HP-EOS1210I 1-30 NIMH / NICAD 1-12 LiPOly and A123 1-6 SLA Max Rate 10 amps) charger....it will charge up to 12s lipos....
or
look down the page and look for the astro flight 109
Xtrema" 1-10 Cell Lithium Charger -
Wattmeter
Ultra Duo Plus 30 Automatic Peak
just some stuff to look at
