Five new NAMBA 2-lap records set today

What a day it was !! The District 19 Seismic Amigos hosted an official NAMBA 2-lap time trial at Legg Lake today [ and tomorrow as well] . 5 FE records today and tomorrow may hold better times.
    Brian's smokin' P - spec OPC [ that's right; P-Spec with UL-1 motor] tunnel cut a 30.93 sec time in P-OPC.
Brian's N-2 Hydro cut an incredible 22.509 time, beating his own record of 23.35
Brian ran Mike Pag's T-Hydro to a 23.26 record time, with more to go tomorrow
Tyler G. "stole" my P-Offshore record at 28.60
[ Tyler also ran a 28.5 sec P-mono time, tying but not bettering Darin's 28.5 time, but tomorrow , who knows what'll happen ?
I copped the P-Sport Hydro record with a miserable 34.17 ; unfortunately my Neu was getting refurbed so I popped in a trusty old 9XL.
The Amigos set some gas & nitro records as well, A Legg duck forgot to, and we ate barbeque at the water's edge at nightfall. Mark, Chris, and Kim Grim did a great job, and the Amigo's friendship and hospitality was absolutely heartwarming to this lonesome LA FE guy. [ If I screwed up any of this, apologies; I'm so worn out I can't even see straight ; tomorrow I'm moving to a new pad so I won't be there to see what else may happen, but I'm sure more will be revealed.

Good Enough... I'm curious if he ever found that last tenth for the P-Mono record... I talked to Brian and he said he was close...

Are any of the P-spec "official records"?

Bill.... I don't think so. NAMBA doesn't have a "P-Spec" class. However, the P-OPC record that Brian did there was done with a P-Spec power system...

Any record set using a P-Spec setup would simply be for P...

                    Opc

That's pretty good for a spec motor.
Those opc's can't handle much more and be consistant..

                    Probably the perfect power choice.
I'll be working with mine today, they go incredibly fast with the gold motor..

I saw that this morning, Jay... both are pretty darn fast! I'm guessing that little N2-Hydro, however, REALLY looked like it was flying! WAY faster than a boat that small should be going! And to think, that same hull was stuck down at the bottom of Lake Minden just over a year ago. It's built like a TANK, which I think is the way to go these days! Well placed strength is just a good idea with today's power levels...

                        Way to go guys!

                          Jay, et. al.:

Some more information, posted this morning in International Waters:

                          Guys,
The 20 second 2-lap barrier has finally been broken with a gas boat. The Mark and Chris Grim designed Grim Reaper Rigger powered by the new CC Racing Pro Mod Engine, CC Powermaster Aluminum pipe with 1" header and True Spin Prop has set the new NAMBA 2-lap record at 19.953 sec for two laps. That is an average of 9.976 seconds per lap. That is by far the fastest gas powered heat race boat on the planet and it was done with a modified Zenoah
                          .

Thanks Darin, that is smoking and congratulations to my friends the Grims. However, there are currently four other 2-lap records under 19.9 seconds, in both NAMBA and IMPBA. I see that the proud engine builder corrected his statement that the gas rigger was the fastest boat in the world. The "fastest R/C heat race boat on the planet" title actually belongs to Mark's X Hydro nitro rigger, which holds the NAMBA record at 16.99 seconds. Now between both of them Mark and Chris hold four of the five fastest 2-lap records.

With the N-2 rigger breaking 22 seconds, a properly set-up Q or T rigger should be able to break 20 seconds with ease - once the driver has the setup and a little more practice.......
