hydro setup

I was going to run a feigao 7xl (I would like to try the feigao first ) or neu 1515 2200kv with a castle 120 / 4s lipo . The hydroplane is 27 inches and should this set up hit 50mph plus also I was going to use a x442 or x445 is this a good set up or any suggestions . The lipos I was going to use is 5000mah 30c thanks for looking.

depends on the hull and other things. try to tell us what hull if not show some pics. props sound big, but need all info.

Check out this new cheaper motor from NUE. Can diameter is same as Fiago xl, but rotor is the same size as 1515 1y. This motor and m440 prop should reach 50mph + easily. I would try to use 4s2p with atleast 6600 mah (two 3300mah packs parallel) and 30c lipos. Keep an eye on ESC temps and use extra capacitors.

I decided to try the set up in my viper with a castle 120 . Just need to know which motor I should use for around 50mph neu or maybe 8xl I also have a hacker 8L would that work to hit 50

I think you can get that speed with an 8xl.
I'm getting low 50's with an 8xl and an X640 in a 31" sport 21 hydro.

Although I run a hydra 240, I've seen a local boat (27" mono) with an 8xl, hydra 120 and prop ranging from an x637 to an x642 run fast with no problems.
I also have to say that motor and battery temps are quite reasonable on my setup.
120-130 degrees tops.
If anyone thinks this is pushing your setup too hard I hope someone here would offer their advice regarding this, there are people here that are far more experienced than I.

I run my UL-1 using two 4s 35c 3300mah cells wired parallel using a Hydra 120, m440 prop. I also use extra caps to try and prevent esc failure. ESC temps reach as high as 170 in this setup. So to answer your question 4s is common practice with this motor.
