Go to the offshore electrics on line store, go to the flex shaft listing and you will
find the step by step instructions, It will be under some of the flex cables he sells.

thats a square drive cable, no assembly required. The problem with those is getting the flex cable to have a nice and straight squared end. If its not straight it will vibrate.

I bought one of those sets too. My drive cable end is a bit too big to fit into the prop shaft. It will need a bit of filing to make it work. Better than being too small, I guess.

It shouldn't need to be bonded in. It is supposed to work like the nitro motor square drive setups. There is a step on the prop shaft that keeps the prop shaft from coming out the back of the strut. The square end will be a floating fit inside the prop shaft.

An advantage to this arrangement is that thrust loads won't be transmitted to the motor bearings when the flex shaft expands or contracts in length with prop torque. The square end will (theoretically) slide inside the prop shaft to compensate, keeping thrust loads off the motor bearings.

Very true. I got mine which is a bit smaller at the square end. when it was inserted into the prop shaft there's a small amount of play. so I went to the lake and then within 5 minutes got back with a rounded flex end and a dehisced shaft.

To make it reliable, I inserted some metal sheet into the square hole of the prop shaft to make them fit tight with no free play. and then find a new shaft, hoop the shaft square end with a piece of steel tube, it was so tight that I have to use a hammer to hit the shaft into the steel tube. Now it has no problem after two month of run.

ok I think I got the picture now...one more question

what about the fact that the prop end of the prop shaft has no threads......anyone got problems with the bullet that holds the prop on only uses a grub screw?

Mine came threaded and has a nut to retain the prop. Maybe there was a design change somewhere along the way.

another pro is that IF the flext breake you dont lose your prop.
i have one of those and its been worken great on a 380 8L on 3c
