I'm nervous to continue this brushless route. I've actually only had one person tell me the 12L was a good choice, which was the opinion I bought the motor on. If I knew for certain I wouldnt be wasting even more money, for a motor that I dont KNOW can, then I'd do it.

I was thinking of getitng the brushed esc and investing in some good cells. 16 IB3600's or 4200's. My batteries have dont their job well, but I bet I see a signifigant increase in performance alone, with new batts.

go for the 3600's...with 4200's there is a 25% faliure rate in those cells and if not constantly being on trickle charge when your not using them they will self discharge and lose capacity...3600's dont have this problem and are one the best sport cells out there...

I'm wondering though, I've been having trouble finding the 3600's, battlepacks has em, but they only show that huge brick configuration, if I click other configs, I get an error screen.
Anyone out there have loose cells? cheapbatterypacks has elite 3600's, all I can find.

i think you just need to get a different BL esc...like this one so you can stick with the 12L

dont give up on the brushless set up. they are more efficient than that brushed motor will ever be and you will love the performance, night and day difference. the set up cost can be potentially higher at first, but look at it this way, a 700 WILL eventually wear out brushes, causing you to purchase another motor, a brushless motor has bearings to wear only, and depending on the bearings used can and may have a life span of 50,000+ hrs, as long as they are maintained properly, THATS alot of 4+ minutes of fun time!

alright, being I cant even buy a brushed esc, you guys are starting to get me. :) I'm just concerned, because as a new person to brushless motors, I have no idea what to expect. I was worried it wouldnt have enough torque. Even though the 700sc had way more than enough torque.

wow, when did the hex 120 go one sale, how can I not buy that. Question, is that esc setup for a pistol radio or stick? That's the only thing holding me back right now.

edit: wait I pushed add to cart and the price jumped to $99. wtf. it says $50. that is weird

my LSH hydro on 12 cells 700 ss1 runs 37mph x645 prop, on a nemesis 10L 12 cells x438 detounged, 45mph, but the boat needed to be retuned for that setup it wanted to plant the sponsons hard in the water. these were measured by a radar gun so they might not be exactly accurate. so if you need another reason to go brushless here you go!:D

ok, that's the kind of thing I wanted to here. thank you. being the ss1 is pretty much a 700sc and a 10L is hotter than a 12L, that makes me happy.

I'm going to look around for the esc's. I didnt realize united hobbies is in hong kong, I want to make this as simple as possible. I tend to wonder how long it takes to get from there. Anyway, thanks guys, I feel better now, I'm going to shop around and I'll get back you guys BEFORE purchasing. Something all of us should do. :) I see it so many times,"I just bought -------- is it any good?"

oh yet another question since I think I'm ordering it from united anyways, is it worth it to get the USB adapter for programming? Also to sum up my other question, which shipping type would you use, one is lik $4 and the other $28, I'm wondering what kind of difference were talking about.

Sorry I'm a pain, I just dont want to end up getting the esc in august...ya know.. never ordered from overseas.

p.s. thanks again for all your help, I never got such quick informative replies at the other forum I'm on.
