    Programming 3PM to Hydra 120

I have just been introducing my new Futaba 3PM Fasst to my fleet and discovered that the only way to make my two Castle Hydra 120s indicate full throttle ( LED change from flashing to continuous) was to set the throttle EPA to 120 in spite of the manual stating for ESC set to 100.
    Is this normal ?
Should I use 120 for my Astro 207Ds and X Power 100s or are they fine on 100 ?

While I was at it I also updated the Hydras to V1.04 and set the timing for the Feigao 8XLs at 14 degrees.
Is this the sort of timing you guys are using for sports/competition use on 4S lipo ?

I had my 3pm at 100. You need to calibrate the esc when you change transmitters.

Here is a link to the manual.

The key to futaba radios to castle controllers is to reverse the throttle on the controller. You can leave the epa at 100.

Thanks for the reply guys, but yes I had reversed the throttle and re- calibrated the ESC after the update.
I went through the procedure as per the Castle instructions and it appeared to respond OK, but at full throttle the LED was flashing fast, not steady.
After repeating this several times I changed the Throttle EPA from 100 to 120 and bingo - no more flashing LED.

Regarding the motor timing, I'm presuming that because with V1.03 the timing settings were all cocked up and my 8XL ran fine on setting 2-normal ( but which was really 16.25 degrees ) that setting it to 14 degrees on V1.04 should be OK.
        Whatcha think ?
        Graham.

A great question, Feaigo 2 pole motors are supposed to run on about 7 degrees but seem to have run OK on very high timing on Castle ESC's???. Graham, I like the conservative view point.

To be safe you might want to try it on normal timing 7 I believe. or even low if you havent ran the boat at all yet and go up from there if possible.
