Reddy, what kind of speeds are you running with the MM? Tell me more about the setup your using. Mine is doing in the 30's with a XL12, DD and 18 cells. Running a X440 at about 45 amps. Going to try a X442, then 20 cells.
My strut is set at 1/16" above the bottom of the transom (sponson) and level with hull.
I haven't been on this site for quite a while and kind of lost track of all that's going on. How ya doin?
That is a good question. I am still trying different setups. Currently I am running a 14XL on 24 cells with a X640 prop. Going to put a GPS on it today. Once I get it all worked out I will post it under the build section with video's.
Try raising the bottom of the prop strut, 3/16 of an inch above the bottom of the boat and use a bigger prop. Seems to cheat in some extra speed. Needs a sharp prop.
Great! I like to hear what others are getting out of their MM's. I'll be running mine this weekend. I'm finally able to get back to spending some time on the boats. The drag hydro is coming along slowly. Been spending most of the time truing the hull and fixing the imperfections. Looking forward to hearing your results.
WHEW !!!
Took her out today for a few test runs. bringing the strut up to match the bottom brought her to life.I also moved the cg back to 8.5 inches. I think thats a little hairy.
I could not hold WOT. She wanted to fly. 2 passes and brought her in. 130 esc, and 120 on the motor. changed the cg to 9 inches and tried again. four passes and brought her in for temp check. 140 esc, 135 motor. poly's around 110 depending on where I checked. all the runs today were on the 642. I think I will drop down to a 640 and try that. temps were a little warm for me. maybe the 640 will lighten the load a little.
however , I clocked 51.6 on the gps. I am thinking that with a little more effort I will be able to hit around 60, but not for long. As long as the water conditions are right. You guys have really helped put me on the right track. Thanks a bunch.
I will try and have our club photographer get a video this sunday and post it. She ain't real pretty up close but she is a blur on the water , so who cares...
Thanks again,
Tim:D :D
I have never driven a rc boat that fast. scary as hell. gotta slow the steering for sure. damn thing turns on a dime.
thanks for the help rmzdaddy..
I was really thinking about painting the beast but I don't want to add any weight yet.
