    Saw hydro wieght

Anyone have a general idea on what a SAW 30inch hydro should wiegh about. Mine is coming in at 8 lbs. It still blows over like its 2 lbs though LOL. It seems that when i added wieght to it from the paint and fiberglass it went faster. So far top speed 84mph but only backed it up with 81. So should i cut some wieght out or leave it? Thanks for your time.

What hull is it? Sometimes its the design of the hull that is the limiting factor. You may need to do some sponson mods to keep it from blowing over at high speeds.

Its a dominator Miss Attitude hull. Center of gravity is 1.5 inches past sponsons. The hull really sucks without sponson mods and is real sensitive to any changes. But i always felt the hull was too heavy. I crashed it hard and had to add lots of glass to fix her so its heavier now.

the CG is part of the problem, move that forward and you'll get more time before the boat flies, a lower strut as well (there is a max though)... sponsons mod will help with that as well

0.5" past the sponson if not at the end...
how low is your strut? if it's not too low, try 3/4" past
the sponson and lower the strut some it's hard to tell since
I cannot see the boat from the side, any pics? It'll depend on
the AOA that the sponsons has.

                  Gary,
I wanna say yes... you should be fine. If the recommended tips on this thread do not work, then you can add some weight to the front of the boat and see if that will help...
do you mind posting a picture of the side so we can see the strut depth and angle?

                      dark horse (26") on 4s with a 9L Feigao... I clocked it at 62+...
I am not looking for a lot of speed but on Hydros.
I try too many things and learn it that way, I am trying to get my act together as far as N2 Riggers go, I've build some prototypes and so far I have 2 hulls to test still.
I have an UL-1 system on another DH and that was in the 50's and solid in the water.
I have another hull, 1/8th scale and that has an outrunner in it... that things is showing signs of lots of speeds, but it just does not wanna stay in the water, I think weight is needed to the bow somewhere... my strut is as far as it can (w/o dragging sponsons) and still... I have only gone to qrt. throttle, maybe 3rd throttle.
I have hulls out of my wazoo, but some have not seen water yet... and maybe will not for a while since I just moved and things are a mayhem.
Looking forward to see your pics

Well i got it going pretty good and seems to stay on the water more often than not but she is real stable now.Moved COG like you said. First time my son used our new Flip video camera so its not the best and he missed the blow over.It made eight 80-81 mph passes that day.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvLAGyd3GuU
