    Hello Guys;

    I have a rio 51 and I need to know how I adjust the throttle so that when I push the trigger forward the motor would shut down.
    Thanks for your help

    Doesnt sound like a throttle adjust problem, sounds like a tuning problem.

    This is an electric forum but we can try to help you as much as we can here.

    Pictures will help also.

      Hello;
      Sorry about that,I thought I was in the right one.Anyway I know it is not a tuning problem.This is a feature on this boat,especially when your coming into shore.Once it gets close enough you can push the trigger forward and it shuts down.I looked the manual online and there was nothing about how to set it.
      But thanks for getting back to me......its off to the right one!
      have a great day

        a simple explaination of how to do this:
        1. set your idle where you want it using the idle screw.
        2. connect cable and adjust the servo horn so it is close (have servo on and centered)(may need to adjust cable too)
        3. adjust trim till you see the throttle move away from the idle screw, move it back to where it touches again
        4. remove your idle screw and test by pushing the throttle forward (should close the butterfly and shut off the engine)

            If your pushing the trigger forward usually this kills the nitro/gas motor in such a boat.

            Is this a stick radio or a pistol type radio?

                When your pushing the trigger forwards, this is supposed to kill the engine.
                This is how most nitro and gas motors are set up.
                The idle isnt set by the idle screw, it is set by the tirm on your radio.

                Set up this way so when your coming into shore or bringing the boat to you to dock it, you can just push the trigger forwards which will shut down the motor and bring the boat to a hault.
