sorry wrong numbers they are 20c constant and 30c sustained, I was talking about the cell count they are 2s2p, would I run 2 of them in parallel or series?

those sound like good numbers who makes them, series should be fine with those numbers if your going to be the pushing the limits then yes parallel

        series the voltage is additive

        parallel the amps/runtime is additive

it would be more effeicent to run a higher cell count in that boat

do you know what setup yor going to use yet like 12 or 18 cells, i would not recomend running different lipo companies together , two orions and a maxx amp to get 18 cells,

            rough estimate
            10/11xl 33mph-12 cells
            13/14xl 38mph-18cells

it will be either a pair of lipos or 4 of the same lipos

I got the parts from OSE today and have pretty much completed what I have. Need to buy some epoxy to epoxy the motor mount to the boat and that will be that.

Still need an esc and want to buy it here but they are out, anyone know of any other source for the hydra 120?

any suggestions for epoxy will regular old JB weld work or is there something better?

So I see the hydra 240 is in stock, will this work and just be overkill or will it just not work with my setup?

JB weld holds stronger than epoxy does...i dont know, but 2 ton devcon might be stonger....but JB will be good enough

sometimes my lack of patience costs me money, overkill is not always a bad thing! LOL :D

First I need to say thanks to Steve and OSE, I ordered the esc and some other stuff on Wednesday and it just got here, now I can run my boat tomorrow!!!

This ESC is a monster, I do have a question though, is it waterproof? Wont be able to run too long tomorrow I have no water jacket for the motor, but I will be able to run and see how it does.

Thanks for all the help and advice and I will let you know tomorrow.

                              ok some more questions,

                              1. the hydra 240 has 2 red wires for power and 2 black wires for power, can I use 1 connector and combine the 2 red and 2 black to there respective poles one connector or do I need to use 2 connectors?

                              2. difference between parallel and series? My thoughts are if I run 2 2s2p lipos in series I will increase run time and still provide the same 7.4 voltage to the esc and if I run the same in a parallel I will send 14v to the esc? Does that make sense to anyone else? Or am I just way off

                              thanks

here is a few pics of the almost finished boat

So I took it out it worked pretty darn good so far. Got up on a plane easily but was not as fast as I expected.

                                2 Max amps 2S2P 7.4 cells

The Hydra has 2 sets of power wires and I was wondering if anyone has put them together so you could parallel a set of batts?
