    Help Needed Outboard & Mono

I mounted this motor on my boat yesterday and am not exactly sure where the motor should be. At first I had the cav. plate about 1/8th in. above the v. The boat porposed horribly in the straights. I gradually trimmed down and lowered the motor and this settled the boat down in the straights but it hopped horribly in the turns and cavitates coming out of the turns. The powertrain is complete stock from a profisherman. I obviously am not building a race boat but would like for the boat to handle nicely for my kids. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Alvin
P.S. This boat hopped in the turns when it was surface drive with a 10xl on 4s as well.

In the video it doesnt really look like it got on "plane". Perhaps that is the problem now as well. Either more weight up-front or level out the outboard parallel with keel and more speed? I see it once had tabs on it as well. Maybe resort back to using them even if they arent adjustable. Just some ideas. It looks cool though. Maybe would work better on a flat bottom or deeper V hull.

Try dropping the motor so the cavitation plate is even with the V of the hull - then adjust the motor so that it is parallel with the transom!

From the pictures it looks like it is tilted away from the transom which when under power will cause the hull to ride wetter!

If you look at Aquacraft's site I think you can read a pdf of their instructions on mounting this motor!

Have you tried trim tabs and a turn fin?

^^^^^^^^Haven't tried anything yet as this was it's maiden voyage with the outboard. I redrilled the transom this afternoon and put the cav. plate even with the bottom of the V and level. May run her again tomorrow. Will update on progress. Again thanks for the help.
