    14xl 8s MM data log

I recently switched my 8s mean machine with a geared 12xl to a 14xl direct drive.
Everything runs cooler than with the previous setup, barely warm to the touch.
Speed was 55.6mph with an M440 prop. I will have to adjust the strut angle as it was very blow over prone!

Thanks go to Reddywatts for running the numbers for me on this setup, and to Douggie (Flying Scotsman) for his words of caution that helped convince me NOT to run the 12xl direct.

I plan to have some good video next weekend
Here is the graph data for those who might be interested.

    Awesome job RMZDADDY !
What did you set your strut depth and angle to?

Thanks much The strut is approx. 1/8 inch above the sponson bottoms. I had thought the angle was flat, that's how I had run it before with good results, but after several blow overs I realized it was angled up somewhat. I'll have to fix that for next time!

        Great thanks..
I just put together a MM with SV power, very nice running boat..
I would love to go with a XL motor on 4s, not sure what motor to run?

I'd think a 9xl or maybe even an 8xl would give good results, depending on the esc you would be using.
I run an 8xl on 4s in my sport 21 hydro and it runs great (low 50's) with a hydra 240.
