580L 7turn in 37" Mono..need ESC and lipo cell suggestions.

I have a 37" mono that I plan on using a 580L 7turn Feigao motor in, and was wondering what a good ESC match was for this motor, and how many cells lipo would be good as well. I am thinking about the turnigy 180a ESC and maybe 5 to 6 cell lipo. Is that a good balance for that motor, or should it only use 4 cell? Also, What is a good starting point for a prop on that motor? I am more use to 30" boats with 540 size brushless, so this bigger hull is all new to me! Thanks for any help. Mike

I think the 7 turn would be a bit high specially on 6s..
the 9L on 6s would be a better choice.. IMO

Do you think 6 cell on that 580L is a much better route than 4 cell no matter what turn I use? Just wondering, and thanks, Mike

If you chose a lower KV and go up with the volts you will have a much better performer..
If you use a high KV on 6s you could run into problems with the bigger boats..

6S is too much on the 7L. 4S will be a screamer. 180A esc is plenty if you don't overprop it! Stick with an X440 or X442 to start out. No more!

Bigg boat > Bigg prop > Low revs motor > more Cells .

            37" boat > 50mm prop > 580L 12 (1051) > 8s lipo .

I think I will go that route because I already have the battery packs to do it with! Thanks, Mike

How fast are you running with the setup you show here? I have a thundercat I converted with 6s lipo, etti 150 esc, 580L 9T. the last prop I tried was a graupner 47mm 3 blade and I got 37mph.
