trrouble with hydra 120 need help

anyone have problems w/hydra 120 going crazy. I run a BK Bandit with 3650 2300 ammo and a x440 2 blade prop. Boat takes off fast after a lap baot wants to run away and turn left by its self. Thought it was a reciever problem but I'll plug in my 60 amp aquacraft esc boat is fine no proplems.Yes I did program my TX/RX to my hydra in case anyone asks. I really want to run my Hydra. Should I try a 2.4 ghz system w/it?

Are you run with a bec or are you using a separate pack for the receiver?

Yes agree, try a separate rx pack and disable the internal BEC. Probably right Sven.

The obvious question is, what radio are you running now? The high performance Hydra could be making more interference than your current radio can handle. If it's an AM system then by all means ditch it for a 2.4 gig system - the AquaCraft Tactic is great for the price.

How is the Hydra programmed? What timing, cutoff, etc are you running? Does it have the latest firmware?

Just wondering...if you run the same setup with a 60 amp ESC and you don't see this issue but you do with a 120 amp esc and mostly after the lipos have heated up a bit....could this effect be a product of the prop you are using??

I am assuming the boat is running faster with the Hydra, is that true?

Ditto , and one more question as you have already answered one I was going to ask. How new is the battery holder for the rx? if it has corrosion on it it may be a problem. Hopefully you run a separate 4-5cell pack instead of the 4 AA battery box.

I am running a am 27mhz futaba radio system with the boat. Can't see or understand how a esc whould interfer with radio signals but anything is possiable. Running a 4 AA batt box. Hobby shop said thats all they use w/120 hydra. Thinking about buying the castle bec eliminator. The hydra is programed with the latest firmware set up for race 12 volt cut off and throttle curve lowered on take off for a smooth launch I think the timing is 7 degrees. I belive is equal to race on the 1.03 firmware. No reverse no brake. Yes boat is faster w/hydra 120. Idon,t see my prop causing any of my problems. I run a x642 on my stock sv no probs. The x440 is smaller.

The comment about the prop is in relation to the possible effect of torque roll. At a higher RPM, the torque roll might be causing the boat to pull to the left.

                  Just a suggestion.

Happyone I thought you meant like over heating or to much amp draw on the hydra. Torgue roll is possiable but it goes to the left like small circles

silly question maybe but did you eliminate the red wire while using the rx pack?

Yes I did disconect the red wire on the hydra. Also will probably be buying the 2.4 system

Just a comment, torque roll will make the boat lay over on its right side, usually causing the boat to trend towards the right, not the left.

If the boat is going faster with the Hydra, then the motor is obviously getting more volts and amps. This increases the RF interference, and 27-band radios are notorious for glitching from that type of interference. No guaranty that a 2.4 radio will fix the problem, but unless the Hydra is faulty it will probablty help. It is sometimes tough to diagnose electrical problems from afar.

Fluid. I hear ya about elect. probs. This is the first cat I built for speed. Every thing is brand new and a lot of cha-ching in it. I'm going to order the 2.4 system. If that does'nt work then I'll send 120 hydra in for repairs should be covered under waranty it's only 2 months old and haven't got a good run out of it although boat is fast I dont trust it because of the interferance prob.
