    Propeller work

I have recently started modifying my own propellers and would like to know if someone could enlighten me as to the most effective way to actually 'thin' the blade out. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

If using a dremel stone or similar, what shape ?

I always used a flat file.

I use a 1" belt sander with 120 grit. You need to have a light touch and smooth movement for this method to work.

I use the belt sander as above and a 90 deg air die grinder with pads similar to tough scotch bright to finish, more control than the belt sander. Edge cup seems to improve alot of props but have a few that rolling the blade does even better

          I buy them already done!

But I have thinned blades using files and 120 grit sandpaper (using progressively finer paper to finish). I've found a points file works really well, they small so they get into all the tight spots, but tough enough to do a good job.

We can have a chat on Sunday if you like Jimmy.
